Access & Paradox is a project art fair where galleries and institutions are invited to transcend the classical art-show booth. Access & Paradox defends the most emergent artistic scene, making the art fair an exchange space. True collaborative platform, it creates alternative forms of partnership, mixing public and private.

Access & Paradox gives the opportunity to public organizations to show their collection and introduce their most recent acquisitions to the public. Next to them, for the first time young galleries are given the possibility to access an art fair in Paris and exhibit outstanding and audacious projects during the contemporary art week.

Access & Paradox is part of the UNESCO international program « 2010, International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures ».

Because the initiators of Access & Paradox and the public organisations participating at this Open Art Fair are intimately convinced that art feed itself from besides, this forum will create a durable link through exchange, essential in the contemporary art reflection which, by nature, free itself of all boarders. It is thus by means of all these mediations that Access & Paradox will bring an authentic, different and freed thoughts on the art and its actors, distinguishing itself by this way from the traditional arguments which govern its market.

Since the art fair is based on active partnership, Access & Paradox, UNESCO, CIA and the Embassy of Iceland in Paris will invite all their partners and exhibitors to take part in the conferences program. Conferences program available in the Agenda.

Access & Paradox is a collaborative project based on sharing technology and knowledge.

Access & Paradox has the pleasure to invite Iceland as a guest of honour of its first edition.

Access & Paradox and the Icelandic Embassy in Paris work hand in hand to present the Icelandic contemporary art scene throughout the duration of the fair. Thanks to CIA, Access & Paradox has the opportunity to invite the Director of National Gallery in Reykjavik, Mr Björn Halldúr Runolfsson as chief curator.

We have worked together to give the opportunity to Icelandic galleries to be present on the fair.

Mains d'Oeuvres, associative structure dedicated to emerging art, will invite an Icelandic artist in residence throughout the month of October 2010.

Conferences in collaboration with institutions in France and Iceland will be given during the all fair. The program available in the Agenda.
